Projects & Mentoring Programme

FSU International Office

The goal of the internationalization efforts at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU) is to link all relevant players within and outside the institution. The common interest of everybody involved focuses on strengthening internationality, integration and interculturality, and on making these topics more visible. Hence the International Office is represented with a branch office at the International Center (IC) and coordinates the mentoring programs for international students and projects (e.g. ERASMUS+) from here. The branch office further serves as a meeting point for internationally engaged staff of faculties and institutes and staff of the International Office.

Addressing students and FSU staff alike, the International Office organizes a variety of events at the IC throughout the year, including intercultural trainings, information sessions for those who want to go abroad, welcoming days for international students from around the world, networking events and workshops on international teaching.

Everybody is welcome!

IO Mentoring Programme

The International Office supports foreign students during their initial phase at the University of Jena. One way of doing this is to provide incoming students with a mentor who voluntarily supports them during the immatriculation process and also helps them finding their way at the FSU and through the city of Jena. Mentors are usually fellow students who are qualified to help in all matters regarding student life in Jena.

Foreign and German students are likewise welcome to learn more about the Mentoring Programme. If you want to work voluntarily as a mentor or need one youself please do not hesitate to contact us:
