The Buryat-Kalmyk-Mongolian Student Group Jena (BuKaMo-HG) contributes to international understanding by preserving and promoting Buryat, Kalmyk, and Mongolian culture. This is achieved through lecture evenings, game afternoons, the celebration of Mongolian and nomadic festivals, as well as music and dance performances. 

Furthermore, the group connects interested individuals with archaeological excursions to Mongolia. These are organized on a voluntary basis with former and, where applicable, current staff members of the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology in Jena. 

In addition to cultural activities, the student group regularly hosts a German language café and supports international students in dealing with local authorities and administrative matters. 

Another key focus of the student group is artistic and cultural exchange. This includes encounters with artists, exhibitions, creative workshops, and events that offer insights into Buryat, Kalmyk, and Mongolian culture and their contemporary development. In doing so, we aim to bridge the gap between tradition and the present while creating a space for dialogue between people of diverse cultural backgrounds. 

The group is also represented at the Welcome Days of the International Office, the "Fest auf der Mauer", and the "Markt der Möglichkeiten" (Market of Opportunities).
