Office space for student and intercultural initiatives in the International Center “Haus auf der Mauer”

Are you a student or intercultural initiative looking for a suitable space to develop and stage your events? Then apply to become a resident at the International Center "Haus auf der Mauer"!

The International Center “Haus auf der Mauer” provides three office spaces (between 12 and 15 m² each) to student and intercultural associations and initiatives for exclusive or shared use free of charge. Please note that one of the rooms is a walk-through space. The offices can be used from October 2026 to December 2027.

The purpose of this allocation is to promote international and intercultural exchange, to support student initiatives and to create a vibrant space for exchange and collaborative projects.

The offices are connected to the university network and furnished with desks, chairs, and cabinets. The use of the offices is reviewed annually and may be reallocated.

1. Usage Concept

  • The office space is suitable for either sole or shared use by several initiatives and associations. Applicants should indicate whether they prefer exclusive use or a shared arrangement. Shared use will be given preference during the selection process.
  • Arrangements regarding usage times, room allocation, and organizational matters should be made independently among the respective beneficiary initiatives.
  • Users are also expected to actively contribute to the community life of the International Center

2. Allocation Procedure

Office space is allocated based on applications submitted by interested initiatives and associations. Decisions are made by a joint committee of the International Center’s partner institutions, in cooperation with the contact and coordination office. The following criteria are taken into account during the selection process:

  • Student-oriented character of the initiative

  • International or intercultural focus of activities

  • Active commitment and participation in the community life of the International Center

  • Contribution to fostering meaningful exchange among students from different disciplines and backgrounds

3. Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted in writing and should include:

  • a brief introduction to the initiative,

  • an overview of previous activities, and

  • an outline of the planned use of the office space (including purpose of use, preferred usage times, willingness to share).
