For many years, BandsPrivat Jena e.V. has been promoting intercultural exchange and musical networking in Jena. Founded in 2008 as part of the MedClub and established as an independent non-profit association in 2012, BandsPrivat stands for unique musical encounters in a warm, family-like atmosphere.

With more than 120 concerts at the Haus auf der Mauer, the association has brought together musicians from Jena, across Germany, and from all around the world. Whether folk, pop, rock, jazz, or experimental sounds – the focus is always on music as a universal language that transcends cultural boundaries and fosters connection.

Open jam sessions offer space for musicians from different backgrounds to come together spontaneously, share ideas, and learn from one another.

All events are free of charge – because music should be accessible to everyone and bring people together regardless of their financial means.

BandsPrivat Jena e.V. is run entirely by volunteers and works closely with the International Center Haus auf der Mauer to make (inter)cultural and student life in Jena more vibrant and diverse through music.
