Salsa Classes Jena
Salsa Classes Jena is a volunteer-run, non-commercial initiative that has been organizing FREE salsa classes and dance events for students and the international community in Jena since 2021.
Our motto is: “Anyone can dance salsa.” 💃🕺
Our goal is to bring people together regardless of their background, age, or dance experience, and to provide them with easy and free access to Latin American dance culture.
In addition to regular salsa classes, we organize open salsa socials, Latin parties, and workshops. It’s not just about dancing: music and movement create a space for connection, friendship, and intercultural exchange.
Our classes are designed in collaboration with volunteer dance instructors from Latin America. This way, in addition to teaching dance steps, we also share the cultural and social aspects of Latin American dance culture.
After five years, a diverse international community has emerged where people from different countries and fields come together — and, of course, dance salsa together. ❤️
Regular salsa classes are usually held on Tuesdays. Paulina Fuentes-Zacarías is responsible for coordinating the initiative.
