Discofox Class
Discofox originates from the combination of, among others, Foxtrot, Swing, Boogie Woogie, Disco and Salsa. It is a couple dance that can be easily learned and used for any music with a steady 4/4 beat, which makes it very popular in Germany, where it is associated with Pop music or Schlager. Join us and get proficient on the party dance floor in no time!
Our group offers free Discofox classes, taught by our instructors who have years of experience. Bringing a partner is not a necessity, and it is possible to come on your own or with a group of friends. During our classes, we strongly encourage you to switch roles (leader/follower) and dance partners to improve efficiently your skills through the connection with different people and their movements. We will show you different figures, turns and combinations to provide you with a larger set of skills for parties and other events. To be as inclusive as possible, the classes are mainly taught in English with clear visual instructions; but additional instructions in other languages (German, French) can be provided when necessary. All in all, we are an open and friendly community welcoming anyone who wants to join us for dancing, connecting and having fun.
The classes are taking place every second Monday at Haus auf der Mauer in the seminar room. They are divided in two parts: a Beginners class from 7pm-8pm and an Advanced class from 8pm-9pm, both with some social dancing.
